Overview:

The BLM Color Country District Office has one internship position available for the 2021 spring season. This internship focuses on a multi-media approach to reach primarily external audiences via social media and internal audiences via written stories. The development of short-form videos for social media platforms is the primary focus of the internship, including the development of a video treatment, and associated social media plan. Additionally, interns will produce other products, including written stories, press releases and photographs. Efforts will center around the BLM’s Cedar City Field Office and may extend to other offices within the Color Country District.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Field Work (includes video/audio editing) – 70%
  • Office Work – (includes the development of media releases and presentations) 30%

Qualifications:

  1. “Junior” or “Senior” standing
  2. Knowledge of journalistic principals and techniques
  3. Knowledge of video production, preferably experience with Adobe software
  4. Knowledge of photography
  5. Knowledge of audio production, preferably experience with Adobe software
  6. Ability to work in a professional office setting and in an outdoor field environment
  7. Valid driver’s license

Applicants who possess these skills and who are pursuing a degree in fields related to Communications, Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Public Relations or Marketing will be given the greatest consideration.
